Waterjet Cutting
Waterjet cutting is a precise and unique flat sheet and plate cutting method that can be applied to a variety of materials and thicknesses. All types of metals, plastics, ceramics, composites and even laminated materials like G10 & Kevlar, have been successfully cut here at CAMM Metals. Our standard table configuration allows us to cut up to 6” thick. Additional setup allows us to cut even thicker.
Waterjet cutting provides a smooth, consistent edge without any slag, dross or melting since waterjet is technically a cold cutting process. Waterjet cutting does not put any heat into materials so there is no need for stress relieving plates or even reaming holes prior to threading. Cutting tolerances of +/- .005” are easily achieved and with the Tilt-A-Jet cutting head, we can achieve tolerances of +/-.003” on materials up to 2” thick. With our large table, we have the ability to cut very large parts with a maximum part size of 80” x 168”.
We operate two waterjets in our facility which allows us to act as a waterjet cutting service center for many machine shops, distributors and other customers without flat cutting capabilities. A quick turnaround is a necessity in today’s marketplace and we make every effort to satisfy this need on all waterjet cutting service orders.
